Hello Jesse and all. Dance show with Julius Eastman yesterday was pretty good. The Evil Nigger half was amazing, the Gay Guerilla one less so (rhythm is less obvious in this one)

@fred where was the Julius Eastman show? Sounds interesting.

Good morning everyone! France choonin’ in!!

I did Ben Waddington’s amazing Coil walking tour of London on Sunday. Truly fascinating, and mind boggling level of detail and mythology. They had lots of interface with (and competition with) Bronski Beat.

In Paris. It must have been amazing in Geneva last month (the premiere run) as music was played live there. Must have been a big stage, with 21 dancers, 4 tightrope walkers (though they don’t use real estate on the ground) and 4 pianos.
That show was called Outsider, by Rachid Ouramdane and the Geneva theater ballet, in case it comes your way

→ Hi from Holland:
For dance fans in Europe, July Dance starts next week https://julidans.nl/en/ “Julidans shows the current state of international contemporary dance in this 34th edition in Amsterdam”

→ Doris from Droitwich:
@fred There’s currently one more show in Rome on 9 September: https://www.auditorium.com/it/event/rachid-ouramdane-ballet-du-grand-theatre-de-geneve/

Hope it makes it over to London!

↳ Hi from Holland @3:22

Age of Content is pretty good, if uneven. I loved Scarbo. I haven’t seen the rest, but Munyazeva, da Silva Fereira and Martens are usually worth seeing.
I’m more on the fence with Ripoll, but I did like Zona Franca

3:38am
→ Doris from Droitwich:
@David You’re so lucky to have done the Coil tour! I’ll have to ask him if he has plans for future tours.

Major FOMO vibes on the Polyglot chat today 😅

↳ Doris from Droitwich @3:38

Hi Doris! And I second–it’s a major dream of mine to do that Coil tour

3:45am
→ David (in London):
Doris, he does it once a year in June. Drop him a line and get on the mailing list. He is an excellent guide, a massive enthusiast for the band and incredibly good at bringing their mythos alive and into the everyday world.

3:46am
→ Doris from Droitwich:
Will do, cheers David!
